Demo in Tikrit demanding resignation of Council’s Chief

SALAHADDIN / IraqiNews.com: A demonstration went to the streets of Tikrit, the center of Salahaddin Province on Wednesday, demanding the resignation of the Province’s Council Chairman, Ammar Yousif Ali, because of the attack against its Council last week, a security source said.   “A number of demonstrators took to the streets of Tikrit today (Wednesday), where they gathered close to Salahaddin Council’s building, raising condemnation slogans and demanding the resignation of its Chairman, Ammar Yousif Ali, in the background of the armed attack that took place against the Council building,” the security source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Noteworthy is that a group of armed men, dressed in military uniform, broke through the Salahaddin Council’s building on 29/3/2011, after a suicide blast, followed by a clash with the security forces, that killed 60 people and wounded 90 others, among them members of the Council, journalists, tribal chieftain and security men.     Tikrit, the center of Salahaddin Province , is 175 km to north of Baghdad   SKH (IT)
