Special Committee formed to investigate attack on Kurdish TV Channel:

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: A special committee had been formed to investigate the attack and burning of the Kurdish NRT Channel, Sulaimaniya Governor, Pahruz Mohammed Saleh said on Sunday. “A committee had been formed to investigate the incident of the attack and burning of the NRT Channel,” Governor Saleh told a news conference, held close to the site of the channel. The Channel’s Director, Tuana Othman, on his part, told the reporters: “We don’t want the formation of an investigation committee, because we have had a bitter experience with such committees in the past; but we want to uncover the details of the incident, for which we have documents about those who carried it,” calling on the authorties “to check them by themselves.” A Sulaimaniya security source said that a group of armed men, exceeding 30 persons, have broke through the NRT Channel early on Sunday, burning it completely and wounding one of its guards, thing that led to the hampering of its transmission, that used to carry recent reports about the demonstrations in the Province. “Two Nipalese female workers had suffocated by smoke, caused by the burning of the Channel’s building and have been driven to a nearby hospital, whilst an operation was carried out for the injured guard,” he said.
