Iraqi Kurdistan’s Premier promises to continue reforms

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com – Reforms will continue in the Kurdistan region and the problems presently facing the region will be a priority to settle, the Prime Minister of north Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, Barham Saleh, has promised. The Kurdistan Premier’s promise took place during celebrations in Rania township of Sulaimaniya Province on Saturday, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the uprising that took place in Kurdistan Region in 1991, beginning from Rania, 130 km to the northeast of Sulaimaniya. The Kurdistan Premier, on this occasion, had also “promised to continue marching on the course of reforms in the ruling system in Kurdistan and to treat the problems, stemming from the unity of the Kurdish masses.” “The Kurdistan Region has achieved great steps on the way to reforms and development,” Saleh said. “The Kurdistan government shall take on its burden the continuation of following up the situation,” he added. “The protection of the achievements of the uprising are part of the responsibilities of the new generation, along with the duty of the government to insure a better future for them,” he reiterated.   Premier Saleh, meanwhile, said that “the right of demonstration is the right of all citizens and Kurdistan is proud of its young people, who raise their demands to the government and the public opinion in a civilized way.” SKH (TF)/SR 446
