Sulaimaniya demonstrar, injured in clashes with security men, dies

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: One of the demonstrators, who was wounded due to clashes between demonstrators and security men in northern Iraq ’s Kurdish city of Sulaimaniya last week, has died due to his injuries on Saturday.   “Hardi Farouq, 28, a graduate of Sulaimaniya University , has died on Saturday morning, due to injuries, caused during clashes between demonstrators and security forces in a demonstration that took place in the city’s Azadi Squarre on Tuesday, April 18, 2011,” the security source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Meanwhile, an eyewitness told IraqiNews.com that a demonstration took place inside Sulaimaniya University on Saturday, by students and professors, demanding the detention of the security men, who used force against demonstrators, killing some of them, along with accounting those, who arrested 60 university students during the Tuesday demonstration.   The demonstrations in Sulaimaniya city and its surrounding areas have entered their fourth week on Saturday, demanding broad political reforms and putting an end for corruption, as well as improving public services.   The first days of the demonstrations had witnessed violence acts that caused 8 killings and 200 injuries, according to the Kurdistan opposition parties.   Demonstrators, who gathered in thousands, shall continue demonstrations, demanding clear responses by the government.   SKH (RT)     576
