Iraqi Author wins second Dubai Cultural Prize

THI QAR / IraqiNews.com: Theatrical author Amar Nima Jabir won the second prize of Dubai Cultural Prize of 2011 in the theater field, Dhi Qar Writers Union announced here today.   The winning theatrical text spoke about ” pessimist political comedy tackling our present Arab milieu, with symbolism for the current political and social changes taking place on the Iraqi and Arab scenes”.   On the other hand, Iraqi novelist Rasha Fadhil got the fourth prize in the same contest in the novel sphere.   Author Jabir, is born in Nassiriyah in 1973. He got the third prize in Sharja Theatrical Contest in 2010, as well as getting the best text in Philadelphia Festival of Jordan in 2009, in addition to two Iraqi prizes.   Nassiriya, the center of Thi Qar province, lies 380 km south of Baghdad.
