Talabani, Melkert discuss political developments

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and United Nations Secretary General’s representative Ad Melkert discussed on Thursday political developments and relations with neighboring countries, according to a presidential statement. “Talabani and Melkert discussed national efforts to deal with security, political and humanitarian problems as well as means to further Iraq’s relations with neighboring countries,” read the statement as received by IraqiNews.com news agency. The presidential release quoted Melkert as praising the interest shown by President Talabani regarding the conditions of Christians in Iraq.
