Tight security measures in Kut for al-Hakim’s visit
WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Tight security measures have been adopted in the city of Kut to prepare for the visit of Head of Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council (SIIC) Ammar al-Hakim, a source from the Wassit provincial council said on Thursday. “Police and army forces intensified their deployment in the main streets and around the local council as precautionary measures for the visit of al-Hakim,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The Shiite politician will hold meetings with local officials and members of the Wassit council,” he added, noting that he will visit the Wassit University to meet professors and students.
