75 million dinars, jewelry, stolen in attack in Kut
WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: An armed group has attacked a house, belonging to a cash-exchange shop-keeper north of Kut, the center of Wassit Province on Friday, stealing 75 million dinars and a quantity of jewels, a Wassit Police source said. “Three armed men, using a civilian car, had attacked a house of a cash exchange shop-keeper in Nu’maniya township, 40 km to the north of Kut, stealing 75 million dinars and a quantity of gold ornaments and jewelry,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said the police had imposed a cordon around the stolen house and began investigation and search for the attackers, who escaped to an unknown destination after the attack. Kut, the center of Wassit Province , is 180 km to the southeast of Baghdad . SKH (ST)
