URGENT: 34 killed, 60 injured in central Kut explosion

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: At least 34 persons have been killed and 60 others were injured, as a preliminary result of a booby-trapped car explosion, close to the goldsmith shops market in Kut city, the center of southern Iraq ’s Wassit Province on Monday, a security source reported.   “A sound bomb blew off on Monday morning at the goldsmith shops market in central Kut, followed by a booby-trapped car explosion, killing 34 persons and wounding 60 others,” the security source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Noteworthy is that Wassit Province had witnessed 2 suicide explosions, caused by 2 booby-trapped cars blasts, that killed and injured 141 persons, among them a high-ranking police officer and 7 policemen.   Kut, the center of Wassit Province , is 180 km to the southeast of Baghdad .   SKH (ST) 540
