Five implicated in Kut explosion arrested

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com:  Wassit‘s Police Commander announced that five terrorists implicated in Kut’s explosion during Ramadan were arrested.   A double explosion by a bomb and trapped car took place on 15 August last which led to 40 dead and 68 wounded.   General Hussein Abdul Hadi said in a press conference, attended by IraqiNews.com that the police, in cooperation with the intelligence, were able to arrest five persons implicated in the explosion.   He added that the investigations proved that the car was trapped outside the province then entered the city through one of the terrorist, who was a police member at the internal affairs department of the interior ministry.   General Hadi disclosed that the five persons belong to Qaeda organization, who were able to implement the operation in cooperation with a number of people in the city, who are now under search.   Kut, the center of Wassit province, lies 180 km south east of the capital, Baghdad.
