Parliamentary Integrity Commission investigates Talabani’s US 2 million spending

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Chairman of the Parliamentary Integrity Commission Baha’ al-Araji disclosed that his commission opened an investigation into President Jalal Talabani‘s expenditure of two million dollars to cover the expenses of his trip to the United States. Araji said the Commission is awaiting clarification from the Ministry of Finance. “If the answers are not satisfactory, we will send the files on to the Integrity Commission,” Araji said. “We are not dealing with persons, but with cases of corruption,” he confirmed. Press reports said that Talabani requested two million dollars to cover the expenses of his trip to the United Nations session, held in New York.
