Maliki meets Libyan leader Jibreel

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Premier Nouri al-Maliki received the head of the Libyan Transitional Council, Mahmoud Jibreel, and his accompanying delegation last night, according to a Cabinet statement. During the meeting, discussions were held on how to support Libya with suitable experts to assist in administering this transitional period. The statement, as was received by IraqiNews.com, added that Maliki discussed granting Iraqi support to the new Libyan government with regard to building the state, elections, constitution writing and forming armed forces. On the other side, Jibreel hailed the Iraqi stance which supported the Libyan people and its legitimate aspirations, and Libyan readiness to enhance brotherly relations between the two sides.
