Air space handed to Iraqi personnel

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The U.S.forces handed over the responsibility for Baghdad‘s civil aviation to the Iraqi authorities, a U.S.Embassy statement said today. With this move, Iraq will be responsible for observing its navigation movement for the first time since 2003. Iraqi aviation personnel will direct all aviation movements inside the county. It has been decided that the U.S.forces will withdraw from Iraq by the end of this year, according to the security agreement signed between the two countries.Some American circles prefer an extension of some of these forces after 2011, but the Iraqi political blocs rejected any extension and authorized the government to permit some trainers to remain.
