Electricity minister pushes to execute Zubaidiya station

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The official spokesperson of the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity on Monday said that Kareem Waheed, the electricity minister, met the Chinese ambassador in Baghdad, and demanded that he contact the Chinese company responsible for executing Zubaidiya power station in Wassit, to commence the project. “The station’s generation capacity is 1320 Megawatt,” Aziz al-Shemmary told IraqiNews.com. “The minister refused the link this project with the issue of developing al-Ahdab oil well that is supposed to feed this thermal station with fuel, demanding the Chinese company to start working,” he added.
