US withdrawal going on, no immunity – Maliki

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Premier Nouri al-Maliki said that granting immunity to US trainers is not possible after the US forces withdrawal at the end of this year, pointing out that dealing with Kuwaiti Mobarak terminal needs “accuracy and wisdom”. In an Al-Masar TV interview, he reiterated these stands as well as the agreement of all political parties to this effect. Iraqi political entities agreed last week for the stay of US trainers, but without immunity. On the dispute with Kuwait, Maliki added that this matter needs “accuracy and wisdom”, but we took the necessary points on which the final decision shall be taken after being acquainted with the report of the special committee. Kuwait announced last April its intention to build Mobarak terminal, after one year of Iraqi declaration to build the Greater Fao Port. Iraq criticized the project and demanded its stoppage, but the Kuwaiti side rejected it. RM (TI) Number of Reads:329
