3 projects worth 825M dinars implemented in Kut

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Three projects have been conducted for Kut’s technical institute at a total cost of 825 million Iraqi dinars (1 U.S. dollar = 1,118 Iraqi dinars), an assistant to Wassit’s mayor said on Tuesday. The projects included the establishment of a club for teachers and students, a sewage network and a water network, Sabeeh Laftah told IraqiNews.com. The projects have been financed through the provincial development budget for the year 2008, Laftah added. A Shiite province, Wassit, 180 km south of Baghdad, is in the east of the country. Its name comes from the Arabic word meaning “middle,” as it lies along the Tigris about midway between Baghdad and Basra. Its major cities include the capital, al-Kut, and al-Hayy. Prior to 1976 it was known as Kut Province.   SS (P)/SR 1
