Fire in gas-pipeline west of Basra controlled

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Southern Iraq’s Basra Fire Extinguising elements have managed to control a huge fire that broke out on Sunday in a gas pipeline, close to Zubair township, 35 km to the west of the city, a Basra police source reported on Monday. “The fire broke out in the gas pipeline due to a leakage, caused by its oldness and not any other reason,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that the fire won’t affect the activity of the electric power station in Hartha, supplied by the pipeline, Basra, the center of Basra Province, is 590 km to the south of Baghdad. SKH (TP)SRNumber of Reads:78
