Seminar on Najaf as capital of Islamic culture

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi Culture Ministry, in cooperation with Civil Society Organization, held a seminar to expose Najaf as Islamic Culture capital for 2012. In a statement, received by IraqiNews.com, the participants were acquainted the reasons behind choosing Najaf as the capital of Islamic culture, as an Islamic center for international dialogue where all Arab and Islamic cultures meet. Najaf province was chosen in Arab Islamic Ministers’ Conference held in Azerbaijan capital (Baku) in 2009. There are plans with Islamic Organization for Education, Culture and Sciences to create new cultural establishments in the province. The seminar was attended by great number of specialists, interested personalities and intellectuals.
