PM calls large American companies to invest in Iraq

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq‘s Prime Minister, now on a visit to Washington, has called on the large American companies to invest and work in Iraq, confirming that a lot of encouraging measures exist for those entering in the Iraqi market, according to a statement by the Prime Minister‘s office on Wednesday. “The Prime Minister has said in a speech in the American Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday night that his “country’s partnership with the United States over the past period would help in our future partnership,” adding that “Iraq today is on the verge of building new relations, champions of which won’t be the military and generals, but businessmen and companies.” “The size of work shall be very great, especially in thE fields of agriculture, industry and reconstruction, with broad opportunities that would be given for all to enter in the Iraqi market in those fields,” he said. “The Strategic Agreement between Iraq and the United States shall be supportive for the process of cooperation between both countries,” he said. Iraq‘s Prime Minister Maliki had began an official visit for the United States last Sunday, leading a high-level delegation, taking place with the approach of the departure of the US forces from Iraq by the end of this month.
