Charges against Hashimi are political, not criminal, Kurdish MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Kurdish Alliance MP described the charge against Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi as “political, not criminal”. MP Shwan Mohammed told IraqiNews.com that though the arrest warrant is judicial, but the case is “political” that incited the Iraqi public opinion which does not trust its leaders, so “the case must be dealt wisely”. He added that Kurdish President Masoud Barzani called for a national conference to be attended by all political leaders as a reconciliation attempt to solve all pending questions among them. Iraqi Interior Ministry announced yesterday the issuance of an arrest warrant against Hashimi and broadcasted the confessions of his bodyguards implicating him with terrorist acts that dated to 2009. 1925
