Kidnapped Kirkuk citizen released after paying US$150,000 ransom

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: An Arab citizen of north Iraq‘s oil-rich city of Kirkuk has been released on Friday night, after one month abduction by his kidnappers, for whom he paid a ransom of US$150,000, the city’s Police Director said on Saturday. “A group of unknown gunmen have released on Friday night in northern Iraq‘s city of Kirkuk an Iraqi citizen, called Adnan Ashiq Najim, after one month of his abduction by his kidnappers, who abducted him in southwest Iraq‘s al-Khadraa (Green) district,” Lt-Brigadier, Sarhad Qader, told IraqiNews.com news agency. In another development, a source to the Kurdistan Asayish (Security) in Kirkuk said that one of its forces have discovered 4 containers of a severe-explosion material, attached to an electric network inside a building in southern Kirkuk‘s Officers district, dismantling them, without causing any damage. Kirkuk is 180 km to the northeast of the Iraqi Capital of Baghdad. 744
