House of al-Daur’s governor blown up

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: A group of unknown gunmen have blown up the house of the Governor of al-Daur township in Salah al-Din Province on Friday night, a Salah al-Din Police source reported on Saturday. “A group of armed men have attacked the house of al-Daur’s Governor, Othman Abdul-Karim, completely blown up the house, but caused no human casualties, as the house was empty at the time of the attack” the Police source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Security forces have cordoned off the venue of the house, in an attempt to arrest its attackers, and launched an investigation into the reasons behind the attack,” he added. The governor was admitted to hospital, following an assassination attempt, that seriously injured him and killed one of his bodyguards in east Tikrit, the center of Salah al-Din Province, last month.
