Nujaifi, Tuny discuss present Iraqi crisis

BAGHDAD/ IraqiNews.com : Parliament Speaker Usama Nujaifi discussed with the Islamic Conference Organization ambassador to Iraq Hamid al-Tuny the present Iraqi political crisis and possibility of convening a new conference to continue the deliberations ofMeccaconference, which was patronized by the organization and attended by Iraqi religious circles.   In a statement issued by his office, copy received by IraqiNews.com, Nujaifi disclosed that the Iraqi parliament is planning to issue laws that will organize the relations with the Islamic Conference Organization.   From his side, Tuny stated that “a delegation shall be sent to discuss possibilities of having a new conference to continue the works ofMeccaconference which was held in 2006, that resulted in Mecca Declaration”.   The Declaration was signed by Shiite and Sunni clergymen who called for Islamic unity, the return of the immigrants, releasing innocent detainees”.   Ambassador Tuny stressed that the organization will take heed of the 4-country initiative called by Nujaifi last September, which will compriseIraq,Iran,Saudi ArabiaandTurkeyto solve all differences.
