Al-Iraqiya’s proposal to withdraw confidence “unpractical” – Sadrist Spokesman 1/20/2012 12:34 PM NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: Al-Iraqiya Bloc’s proposal to withdraw confidence from Premier Nouri al-Maliki’s government is “unpractical” due to the availability of other solutions, the spokesman of Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sadr noted. “The Sadrist Trend supports convening the national conference, but this conference should be followed with real actions and intent, not just words,” Sheikh Salah al-Obaidi told IraqiNews.com that, pointing out that the Sadrist Trend is closely following the solutions submitted by other blocs. “All parties should abide by the resolutions to be adopted in the conference,” he confirmed. He disclosed that the Trend had not seriously study al-Iraqiya’s suggestions, but “withdrawing the confidence is unpractical; there are other suggestion that might be worked on”. Obaidi confirmed that the Sadrist Trend is exerting all efforts to solve problems among political entities, and closely following all solutions presented by other components. “The Sadrist Trend has not submitted any solution up till now”, he disclosed. Last Tuesday, an al-Iraqiya affiliated bloc issued a statement claiming should the national conference fail, confidence in Maliki will be withdrawn.
