Talabani undergoes successful spine surgery1/21/2012 10:53 AM BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq‘s President, Jalal Talabani, has undergone a successful surgery on his spine and is in good condition, a Presidential statement announced on Saturday. “Several medical checkups and a spinal surgery were carried out in Germany last Thursday for President Jalal Talabani; all procedures were completely successful and he is now in good health,” the statement confirmed. The statement pointed out that President Talabani had received several phone calls from a large number of political leaderships in Iraq and a number of leaders of friendly and sisterly states, congratulating his Excellency on his health and wishing him prosperity. The statement noted that President Talabani is now under a short recovery period, where he remains under the observation of his doctors.
