Turkey should announce good intentions towards Iraq – Hakeem

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Chairman of the Higher Islamic Council Ammar al-Hakeem called on Turkey today to issue a statement or communiqué expressing its good intentions towards Iraq, according to a spokesman. Spokesman Hameed Mu‘ala told IraqiNews.com that the visit of Chairman Hakeem to Turkey occurred during an important and sensitive time. Hakeem stressed the importance of bilateral relations which should not be swayed by statements here and there. Mu’ala added that Hakeem exposed the real situation in Iraq and the attempts to convince al-Iraqiya Bloc to abandon their boycott and return to the parliamentary sessions.
