10 cases of “black fever” in Kut spotted

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: Ten cases of “black fever” among the youth and children were reported west of Kut, due to the well waters, medical sources said here today. The source told IraqiNews.com that this disease is “a strange one”, which was spotted in Tameem village, 25 km west of Kut city due to the contaminated water of the wells in the area. Symptoms of the disease include hemorrhages from the mouth and the ears, as reported. Residents in the village depend on the wells for their daily water needs. This new disease created a state of panic within the people of the village. Kut, the center of Wassit province, lies 180 km southeast of the capital, Baghdad. RM (TS)/SR 2097
