BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday denied a news report that Iraqi authorities have issued execution orders against three Saudis, close to the Saudi Kingdom‘s family, expressing regret for the anxiety the report caused among Saudi circles. “Some media sources presented a report about the Iraqi Judiciary authorities’ issuance of an execution order against 3 Saudis, close to the Saudi Kingdom‘s family; in light of the report, communications took place with the related Iraqi authorities, in order to clarify the report, whereby it was confirmed that it was incorrect,” the Ministry said in a statement on its website. Noteworthy is that the Saudi Foreign Ministry’s Undersecretary for Relations, Turkey Bin-Mohammed Bin-Saud al-Kabear, had stated on Tuesday that “Iraq does not have a single prisoner from the Saudi Royal Family,” expressing anxiety for the issuance of such “erroneous reports”. The Iraqi Foreign Ministry denied such reports, describing them as “completely incorrect,” expressing regret for “the anxiety they have caused among the Saudi circles,” reiterating necessity for “not-taking such reports and information, issued by unofficial media sources, unless they depend on official Iraqi government sources.” The Saudi National Society for Human Rights had conferred last month with a delegation from the Iraqi Embassy in Saudi Arabia, that comprised the Charge d’Affaires, Abdullah al-Alousi and the 2nd Secretary in the Embassy, Maad al-Obeidy, to discuss the situation of the Saudi and Iraqi detainees in both countries, in order to concluded an agreement for the exchange of prisoners, including those sentenced for death.
