Basra’s Investment Commission scores 47 visas for foreign investors

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Southern Iraq Basra’s Investment Commission has scored 47 visas for the entrance of foreign investors from different states to visit Basra Province, the Chairman of Basra’s Investment Commission, Haider Fadel Ali, told IraqiNews.com news agency on Wednesday. “The 47 visas received by the Basra Investment Commission, would be granted for foreign investors from America, Syria, Pakistan, Britain, Jordan, Australia, China, India, and Canada,” Engineer Fadel said. He stressed that that the motive of the visits by those investors for Basra Province “is to study investment chances and present offers for their investment companies, especially among them those who wish to invest in important fields, such as housing, electricity, agriculture, industry and communications.” “The forthcoming period shall witness the entrance of foreign investors into Basra to study its investment map and get acquainted with the facilities, along with understanding the Iraq’s Investment Law, along with guarantees and facilities, presented for the foreign investor,” Fadel said. In conclusion, Fadel said that “there exists an exchange of communications nowadays, aimed at granting entrance visas for 6 American investors in the fields of education and training, along with 25 others from China, in the field of housing.
