VARIETY: Iraq‘s Parliament holds its Thursday session with attendance of al-Iraqiya MPs BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Parliament has started its Thursday session, scheduled to ratify 5 important decisions, after the completion its legitimate majority, with the attendance of 223 out of its 325 members, including 25 al-Iraqiya Alliance, that ended their boycott, a Parliament source reported. “The Parliament’s 17th session within its current legislative period has started its Thursday session, under chairmanship of its Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify, and the completion of its majority attendance by 223 members, including 25 members of al-Iraqiya Alliance,” the Parliament source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The Parliament’s session today (Thursday) is scheduled to vote on the draft-law for Iraq‘s joining of the special protocol related to the facilities of the International Authority for the Sea Beds, along with the Special Committee for Agriculture, Waters and Marches, the Financial Committee, the Legal Committee and the Foreign Relations Committee. Today’s session also covers the legislation of the draft-law for the exemption of the capital reserves of the Joint Sector Companies from income tax, the voting on the draft-law for the Iraqi National Observation Commission to prevent the spread of of weapons mass-destruction and voting on the draft-law to prevent smoking in public places.
