Hashimi – Multaq’s cases won’t be discussed in Nat’l Conference

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Sadrist Trend announced today that al-Iraqiya Bloc agreed to not to include Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi and deputy premier Saleh al-Mutlaq’s cases in the deliberations for the National Conference. Al-Iraqiya Bloc “agreed to our request” and the meeting was “positive,” the head of Ahrar Bloc, affiliated to the Sadrist Trend, Baha’ al-Araji said in a statement today, received by IraqiNews.com. He pointed out that there are no great differences between al-Iraqiya’s paper and that of the National Alliance. Araji added that the conferees agreed that the National Alliance‘s paper shall be the base for the National Conference because it tackled all problems. Next Wednesday shall be for the second meeting to discuss the paper to be unified one in the conference, he concluded. A Kurdish Alliance MP said on Saturday that including the 2 cases of Mutlaq and Hashimi in the National Conference would create new and unnecessary problems for the National Conference. RM (TI)/SR749
