9 wanted, suspects captured in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Iraqi army and police forces detained on Saturday nine wanted men and suspects in security operations conducted in separate areas of the city of Mosul, a source from the Ninewa Operations Command (NOC) said. “An Iraqi army force arrested five wanted men in al-Zohour neighborhood, eastern Mosul, and al-Tanak neighborhood, western Mosul,” the source told IraqiNews.com. “A force from the Iraqi army’s 3rd Division detained two wanted men in the district of al-Beiaj, western Mosul,” he added. The same source said a force from Ninewa police arrested today two wanted men after opening fire on them at a checkpoint in eastern Mosul, adding one of the two was injured. The source did not give further details. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P)/SR 1
