WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: An aide of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ai al-Sistani in Wassit warned Wednesday of “schemes being concocted against Muslims” in light of the conflicts sweeping the whole region.“We appeal to the citizens of Wassit to be cautious for these intrigues and avoid being dragged to division in the ranks of Muslims,” said Sheikh Saad al-Tamimi in statements to IraqiNews.com news agency.He said that the senior clerics in Najaf province has always been sponsoring all Iraqi groups and seeking the preservation of the country from divisions.“True believers should not be fooled by rumors propagated by some enemies of Islam and Muslims and to work only on the rebuilding of the homeland,” said Tamimi.Demonstrations were staged in some Iraqi provinces in support of Shiite cleric Sayyid al-Sarkhi al-Husseini after assaults on offices, Shiite mosques and religious centers belonging to Sarkhi’s loyalists while unidentified gunmen attacked the house of an aide for Sistani with a stun bomb but left no casualties.Wassit is 180 km southeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
