Parliament’s speaker receives UNDP director

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Usama al-Nujiefi, received on Wednesday UNDP Iraq Country Director Peter Batchelor, with whom he discussed the UN‘s role in developing the parliament’s capabilities, according to a parliamentary statement. “The country is witnessing an important stage to complete all institutions and amending the constitution,” the statement quoted al-Nujiefi as saying, highlighting the importance of the UN role in developing the parliament’s capabilities and highlighting the importance of the human rights issues.
