Call to solve Iraqi immigrants via reconciliation

BAGHDAD/ IraqiNews.com: A Middle Bloc MP called on the Iraqi government to come up with a real solution for the immigrants inside the country and abroad, by initiating national reconciliation. According to a statement issued by MP Waleed al-Muhammadi’s office, he reminded of the great number of Iraqis who remain immigrants, who cannot return to their homes for security and economic reasons. “Despite having three ministries to tackle the immigrants’ questions, recent United Nations figures indicate that more than 1.3 million Iraqis are still immigrants both inside the country and abroad,” he added. Muhammadi stressed the need to activate national reconciliation and the return of the properties and mosques to their peoples and sects, in addition to providing them with suitable residences.
