Khalidi appreciates decision to form commission for electricity investments

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohamed al-Khalidi, considered the resolution of the Parliament to form special commission to invest in electricity sector “a strong blow to the corruption gangs and in the same time an end for the suffering of the citizens from the private sector electricity generators.”

MP Khalidi reported in a statement on Monday that ”The Parliament succeeded in voting on the formation of investment commission for electricity power to solve the lack in energy problem,” stressing that ”The formation of this commission will be a deadly blow to the corruption gangs who are responsible for continuing the electricity crisis by getting benefit from this crisis for their own good.”

He pointed out that ”The formation of this commission will allow the foreigner investors to intervene in the investment and production of the electricity power in order to help ending the electricity power crisis.”

The Parliament adopted a resolution, after a long argument, to start investing in the electricity power sector after many attempts which have failed to improve the electricity power during the last nine years and spending USD (27) billions.
