GC to issue final attitude concerning presence of Camp Ashraf\

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Governmental Commission tasked with shutting down the New Iraq Camp (Camp Ashraf earlier) announced that it “will hold, on Tuesday, a press conference about the existence of the Khalq Organization in Iraq.”

A statement by the Commission cited “A press conference for the Commission will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, at headquarter of the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers to discuss the presence of Khalq Organization elements in the country.”

The United Nations and the Iraqi government have signed on 25 of last December 2011 a Memorandum of Understanding for a humanitarian and peaceful settlement for the situation of Camp Ashraf’s residents which provides for putting an end to the existence of this organization in Iraq and the UN to provide assistance to find other shelter for them in other countries.

The Government of Iraq started the relocation of the Camp’s people (3400) individuals, according to an agreement with the UN to the new site (Liberty Camp) in Baghdad in a form of groups but the relocation process stopped on May 5th after transporting 2000 of them where 1200 person still present in the Camp Ashraf .
