2 wanted on “terrorist” charges nabbed in Thi-Qar

THI-QAR / IraqiNews.com: Two men wanted on “terrorist” charges were captured in two different places in the province of Thi-Qar on Monday, a senior security official said. “Quick Intervention forces on Monday captured a wanted man on terrorist accounts in the district of al-Shatra, north of al-Nassiriya city, while policemen of al-Ekeika district, (45 km) south of Nassiriya captured another,” Col. Sadiq al-Mashrafawi, the director of the Thi-Qar police department’s relations & information, told IraqiNews.com. “The two were referred to the prosecution for further investigations,” he said. Meanwhile, Mashrafawi said that the bomb squad personnel defused three shells found in different areas of the city and handled two mortar shells of 62 mm. caliber in central Nassiriya and a third one in al-Shyoukh souk (market), 40 km south of Nassiriya.
