MP calls Parliament to distribute 2008 budget’s surplus on Iraqi people

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Mohamed Ridha al-Khafaji of Ahrar bloc called the Government to implement the decision issued by the Parliament which stipulates distributing financial amounts of the surplus of the general budget of 2008 to the Iraqi people.

He said in a statement that “The Government has to pay attention to these issues and give them priority as they affect the lives of the citizens especially with the proximity of Eid al-Fitr.”

“The direct financial grants despite they are not a real solution for the economic problems facing the Iraqi families, they help many Iraqis who receive low monthly income also they help those who already do not have stable income,” Khafaji confirmed.

The Parliament had voted on a proposed law on 23rd of last February presented by the Leader of Sadr Trend Moqtada al-Sadr which suggests distributing share from the budget of 2008 for the Iraqi people.
