Key leaders absent from Jaafary’s banquet

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A source from the Iraqi national Alliance confirmed absence of several key officials from the Iftar Banquet held by the Head of INA Ibrahim al-Jaafary, among them Premier Nouri al-Maliki and the Head of the Iraqiya Slate Ayad Allawi.

The source stated to Iraqi News IraqiNews.com Tuesday “Many politicians of different blocs have been absent from Jaafary’s banquet which was attended by the Speaker Osama al-Nijaifi in addition to other MPs of the IS as well as the leader within the State of Law Coalition Khalid al-Atiyya besides MPs of the Kurdistani Alliance.”

“Post the Iftar Banquet, the attendees headed towards the residence of the Premier Nouri al-Maliki and discussed with him the latest developments in the country,” the source added, noting that “The Speaker Nijaifi invited the politicians of all blocs to attend a similar banquet to be held at his residence next Sunday.”
