14 detained in security operation in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Security forces in Kirkuk detained 14 people in a search raid in the southern part of the province on Monday, a senior security official said. “Forces from the Kirkuk Districts’ Police & Criminal Investigations Department arrested today 14 wanted men and suspects in a search raid on three neighborhoods in the district of Daqquq, (40 km) southern Kirkuk,” the department chief, Brig. Sarhad Qader, told IraqiNews.com. “Eight unlicensed guns and some documents belonging to armed groups were also seized in the campaign that came upon the request of the Daqquq local council after the district has recently witnessed a number of civilian kidnappings and blasts,” Qader indicated.
