Diyala (IraqiNews.com) The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee as well as Human Rights Committee will hold a meeting to discuss the security situation in Diyala province on next Sunday.

MP, Raad al-Dahlaki, of Diyala province stated to IraqiNews.com “The meeting will be held in the constitutional hall in the parliament building,” noting that “It will be attended by the Parliament Chairmanship and the MPs of the province to tackle the deterioration of the security situation in the province.”

“The activities of the armed groups that belong to Qaeda Organization witnessed escalation recently while the security forces respond to these activities in a way which is not suitable to these challenges,” he added.

“The security forces resorted to measures that harm the citizens like imposing a curfew or intensifying the security procedures or increasing the checkpoints,” he mentioned.

The recent days witnessed clashes between the security forces and the armed groups in Diyala province.
