UNAMI Strongly Condemns Wave of Attacks across Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) UNAMI condemns in the strongest terms the wave of attacks that have killed dozens and injured many more across Iraq on Monday.

A statement received by IraqiNews.com quoted, Gyorgy Busztin, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General (DSRSG) for Political Affairs as saying “I strongly condemn the heinous attacks and the senseless violence and bloodshed across the country,”

“The scale and brutality of the attacks are appalling – especially now, when Iraqis are not only celebrating the holy month of Ramadan, with its messages of peace and reconciliation, but are also welcoming thousands of returnees who have fled the ongoing violence in Syria,” he added.

“The criminals who perpetrated these attacks must be held to account,” he stressed.

He also extends his condolences to “The families of those who were killed and his wishes for the speedy recovery of those who were injured.”

Earlier, some areas of Baghdad and other provinces have witnessed several bombings that resulted in killing and injuring many of the citizens.
