IS describes Allawi-Jaafary’s meeting as “fraternal, constructive”

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A statement by the Iraqiya Slate (IS) described the meeting of its leader, Ayad Allawi with the head of the National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafary on Friday as “Fraternal and constructive,” noting that “It was agreed to continue the dialogue in the near future.”

Iraqi News received a statement by the IS which stated that “The two sides discussed the current situation in an open and constructive dialogue, and emphasized the need to develop means to get out of the political crisis.”

It added that “Allawi stressed that the Iraqiya Slate is looking forward with open mentality to the initiative of the National Alliance to conduct reforms based on a document of political reforms approved by the former parliament and Erbil first and second conventions,” noting that “Implementing these reforms should be done by the Iraqi National Alliance, which leads the power in Iraq, and there is no need for new dialogues.”

It also mentioned that “Allawi stressed that the blocs of Erbil and Najaf meetings are going on the democratic constitutional options to ensure the achievement of democracy and safeguard the rights of the Iraqi people and the real construction of state institutions on the basis of the principle of citizenship.”
