5 AQI operatives arrested in Diala

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: Security forces in Diala arrested five members of al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI), including an amir (leader) in an operation that targeted the network’s strongholds north of the city of Baaquba on Tuesday, a military source said. “Forces from the Emergency Police Company in al-Salam area targeted AQI strongholds in Rakat Haji Suhail village in al-Khalis district, (15 km) north of Baaquba, today, capturing five members of the network, including an amir of the name Diaa Abdelsattar,” the source told IraqiNews.com. Meanwhile, a police source told IraqiNews.com that an IED went off at a late hour of Monday night near a group of Iraqi soldiers in an area south of Buhrez district, (5 km) south of Baaquba, leaving one serviceman injured.
