Nusayif calls to ask Iran to compensate Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Aliya Nusayif, of the Iraqiya Hurra bloc called “The Government to ask Iran to pay compensations due to its war with Iraq,” noting that “The compensations must be considered since the Iraqi request submitted to the UN to stop the war in 1982.”

She stated to IraqiNews.com “Iraq requested to seize fire in 1982 so Iran is considered as the side responsible of the war, according to the international laws, during the six years that followed till 1988.”

“Iran’s call for Iraq to pay compensations of about 36 billions USD for its war with Iraq is against the international laws and is totally rejected,” the statement added.

“Iran must adopt the principals of the good neighborhood with Iraq,” she concluded.
