Hakim, Turkish Ambassador stress adopting dialogue to settle Iraqi political crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, renewed his call for adopting the dialogue principle among Iraqi political parties and the adoption of the needed reforms.

A statement by the SIIC, received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), cited Sunday “Hakim received today the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Younis Dmerar, and they exchanged views on political developments in Iraq and the region and emphasized the importance of relations between the two neighboring countries.”

According to the statement, Hakim pointed out that “The stability and success in the country could not be achieved by policies of discrimination,” noting that “The sides which do not join the dialogue according to the reforms proposed in specific time will find himself lagging behind the political process.”

The statement added that “The Turkish Ambassador expressed his Government’s appreciation for the opinions of Ammar al-Hakim and the SIIC to achieve stability and success of the political process according to the balance and harmony in the relations among all parties of the Iraqi political scene.”
