Hakim, Nijad stress necessity to settle Iraqi crisis through dialogue

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council Ammar al-Hakim and the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed “necessity to settle the Iraqi political crisis through dialogue.”

A statement by the SIIC received by IraqiNews.com cited Wednesday “Hakim met the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad within the course of his visit to Tehran and both reviewed the political scene on the Arab, regional and international arenas.”

“The Iranian President appreciated the positive role played by Hakim to bring different points of view of blocs closer and highlighted the positive role of Iraq as the chairman of the Arab Summit in settling the regional crises and hosting international conferences,” the statement added, noting that “Nijad reiterated support of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq and its democratic process.”

The statement mentioned that “Hakim reiterated his support for the Iranian peaceful nuclear program, calling the International Community to understand the Iranian right in possessing peaceful nuclear as the power of the future.”
