Maliki stresses speeding up forming IHEC

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) During his meeting with, Martin Kobler, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq, the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, stressed “The importance of speeding up forming the Council of the Independent High Electoral Commission and the laws related to its performance.”

A statement by Maliki’s office received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Maliki received Kobler and he stressed the significance of the coordination between Iraq and UNAMI.”

“Maliki confirmed reaching agreement over settling the issue of Mujahedeen-e-Khalq Organization according to the previous schedules,” the statement added.

“He also emphasized endorsing the laws the concerns the IHEC,” the statement concluded.
