U.S army nabs 8 wanted suspects in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The U.S. army on Thursday announced its forces arrested eight al-Qaeda wanted suspects in Baghdad. “Coalition forces captured a wanted man assessed to be associated with al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) weapons and foreign terrorist facilitation networks in As Sadiyah on Thursday, about 111 km northeast of Baghdad. One additional suspect was detained for further questioning,” said a U.S. army statement received by IraqiNews.com. “Two more wanted men were captured by forces operating in Baghdad Thursday. One of the men, believed to be an AQI financier, surrendered himself to Coalition forces and then turned in his associate,” the statement added. AM (P)/SR 1
